Quality of Earnings reports for business acquisitions, completed and reviewed in-house by our CPA-led team

Tonnesen Accounting Services was founded by Josh Tonnesen, CPA, MBA, whose background includes streamlining financial reporting at Hertz, building financial reporting systems at Arthrex, and delivering executive reporting at Astec Industries. That is where the firm's approach to reporting and documentation comes from.
The firm was built to bring that same level of financial analysis to small and lower-middle-market owners, without the overhead or the minimum deal size of a large advisory practice.
We have worked on more than 600 transactions and built our own Quality of Earnings workbooks along the way, which is why the analysis holds up when a lender or a buyer pushes on it. The team works entirely from the U.S., knows the SBA SOP 50 10 8.1 requirements, and serves small and mid-sized businesses nationwide.
We work the way a corporate finance team works: document what we find, show the support behind it, and say plainly when something does not add up.
You get a number, the reasons behind it and the support for each adjustment, and we walk you through all of it on a call.
A QoE engagement typically runs two to four weeks from the day we have the documents, and we flag slow document production early so you can push on it.
A supported number changes the conversation. It is easier to ask for a price adjustment with a report behind you than with a hunch.
Customer concentration, deferred maintenance, revenue recorded whenever the cash happened to land. Better to know in week two than in month four.
We run about 40 engagements a month. Once you have been through that many sets of small business books, you know where owners bury personal spend and which add-backs a lender will push back on.
Plenty of clients keep us on for bookkeeping or fractional CFO work after the deal closes, so the history does not have to be re-explained every year.
